LIGHTWEIGHT SUNBLOCK FROM ALTHEA KOREA

When I say Sunblock/ Sunscreen what comes in your mind first?

Thick? ashy color? white cast? tacky? patchy?

Well let me share with you my new favorite sunscreen as of this moment and that is the Althea Korea Petal Velvet Sunaway~

If you are not familiar about the Althea Korea it is an online website that offers authentic Korean Brand Products like Innisfree, Etude House, Tonymoly, Laneige etc. in some of the countries in Asia Althea Korea have their own brand and one of the products under their line is the Petal Velvet Sunaway

Note: I got this in PR but I will tell you guys my honest thoughts about the product

PACKAGING

It comes with a baby pink colored uni-carton, the packaging itself has white body and pink cap with a simple text in front that says Petal Velvet Powder with SPF 50+ PA+++ Moisture filled and sebum control. At the Back the text is in Korean except for the I think is the Key Ingredient DAMASK ROSE.  It is also Travel Friendly so it's perfect in my small mini pouch and you will get 55ml of product for only P480 in peso or around $8.

CLAIMS

- Lightweight, translucent sunblock 

- Leaves skin feeling fresh and hydrated

MY VERDICT



Yes it does feel so light weight and it's because it's watery consistency my skin absorbs it quickly.
I m shocked at first because We are all knew that some or most of the sunblocks are thick consistency that leaves your skin with this white uneven cast, If you are familiar with Etude House Sunprise they do share some similarities in terms of the consistency how it works on your skin but the Sunprise has this tacky feeling after application and does not work well under makeup if it's too hot like inn summer season while the Althea Korea Petal Velvet is like water that if you put it on your face it leaves your skin hydrated and dewy healthy glow. 


My only trouble in Althea Korea Petal Velvet Sunaway you can't wear it alone, sometimes I have this habit that after my morning skincare ill just end my routine with a sunblock or sunscreen then that's it with the Sunaway you need to set it because the tendency is when I sweat because PH is a hot humid country it irritates my eyes same with the Sunprise of Etude House.But overall i love it under makeup because it's lightweight and i have this inner glow my face looks matte but with a glow if you know what I'm saying ha ha.

Cushion Review: Mumuso BB Cream Cushion

MUMUSO Korea NUDE CUSHION BB CREAM COLOR 

MUMUSO Korea open their store at UP TOWN CENTER last year and because Im a fan of cheap stores like Daiso and Miniso gusto ko matry tong MUMUSO.

Hindi pa kami naki pagkagulo nung una dahil magpapagupit pa si Wiryiny My hubby sa bench fix (mga 4 shops lang pagitan sa Mumuso). We go straight at mumuso after His haircut and some of the customers are students and young teens specially sa make up area tapat din mismo nang entrance. So the guard and staff will greet you “Annyeong Haseo” a greeting in Korean Language. 

First thing I saw is the skin care items and not just a rack of skin care but a RACKS as in tons of skin care items to choose from. I got my skin care from water to facial mask. Then I saw the make-up rack and this BB and CC cushion caught my eyes. I can’t read what is written on the box because it’s in Korean so I look for someone who could help me figure what is this cushion all about.

Packaging

The Packaging of this cushion reminds me of Too Cool for School Make up items lalo na yung CC cushion but hindi ko binili yung cushion kasi when I saw my basket feeling ko hindi na sasakto yung budget ko haha!.

PRODUCT

The box and the cushion packaging have the same design, The cushion packaging is bulky but it only contains 10 grams.

Shades Available

I searched at www.fda.gov.ph for the product hindi kasi masagot ng sales lady lahat ng tanong ko kasi ang dami nyang inaasikaso so kinuha ko nalang yung item and I did my own research.Shades available are Skin and Ivory. Nakuha ko ang yung lighter shade which is yung Ivory, yung Skin kasi is like color Tan to Natural sa ibang cushions.

Claims

• ·       Hides Blemishes
• ·       Used as make up base
• ·       Offers moisturizing effect to improve skin appearance

Testing

To cover my whole face I need 10-15 times pressing the puff into the sponge and I think masyadong magastos parang isang linggong straight ko to gagamitin ubos na agad. So the Ivory shade is light than my skin tone but it oxidize naman.

Coverage Test

The Coverage of this cushion is actually low to medium. It does not cover or hide your blemishes or imperfections and still need a concealer, if you have a perfect skin I think this works for you. Unlike mine I have dark circles, veins in my cheek area and redness both side of my nose to be perfectly concealed.

Blend-ability

The formula of this cushion is blend-able effortless to use and It’s not sticky as well and it is so easy to work with.

Lasting ability

It wore off after 2-3 hours and I’m just driving or a passenger I didn’t do much just sitting and … yeah… bye cushion.

Pros

• ·       It can whitens your skin instantly
• ·       Compact cushion makes it easy to bring
• ·       Cute packaging! I’m so obsessed with cute packaging!

Cons

• ·       Doesn’t hide your skin imperfection (need 3-5 layers before totally hide my blemishes)
• ·       Used this a moisturizer instead of a foundation
• ·       After 2 weeks of using this item its completely dry
• ·       The dewy effect of this cushion makes your skin fresh healthy and glowing but this one it makes you look oily

Ratings

After using this around 10 times the cushion already gave up on me it’s now dry and for blog purposes I squeezed the sponge to get the remaining items.

 If ill gave my rating on this MUMUSO CUSHION 1 out of 10 ill gave it a 5. I just wish it last longer and hides your blemishes in just 1 layer 3-5 layers is too costly right? A big cushion package with small amount of items in it and a cushion instead of foundation act as a primer. As a cushion lover I’m quite disappointed with this baby I thinks I just bought the cute packaging and the cushion case instead of the BB CREAM. 

But on the other side for below 400pesos I think its ok I hope binili ko nalang ng facial mask nila hehe! Is this a must buy item? Absolutely not but if ever you want to try and curious about this why not. It is not a bad cushion at all I’m not just satisfied with it.

ETUDE HOUSE ANY CUSHION REVIEW!

Oh my! ETUDE HOUSE why all of your packaging are so cute?! I got this last December 2016 when they have a 75% sale plus freebies. So I bought 4,000 pesos worth of items and one of the item I got is this Any Cushion Cream Filter from Etude House.

Packaging

I don’t like pink items but this one got me. The box is pink the cushion package is pink and the holographic cover! So cute! What I notice about this cushion was it’s not like regular cushion that is bulky this one is really slim like a pressed powder casing or something.

Shades Available

When I heard this cushion have 5 shades then I’m in! The problem with cushion is I can’t find my color tone 21 is too white and 23 is too dark. Shades available are (from lightest to darkest) Vanilla, Petal, Beige, Sand and Tan. The one I got is Beige Perfect for my skin tone!

Testing

Beige is the shade perfect for my skin kasi nag ooxidize pa siya has no gray tones and it can brighten your skin. It gives your skin the dewy fresh look like Korean Actress (ahem!) I tested it two times first is with moisturizer and because I want my skin to be moisturized before applying make-up and Second without Moisturizer. If you want to try this item just put a little amount of moisturizer or not at all this cushion is prone to caking and it happened to me.

Coverage Test

Coverage is Light It can’t hide your imperfections but it can blur my dark circles and redness of my skin.

Blend-ability

It is super blend able and creamy just a few pats on your skin and voila! Must have item for busy women out there! Not sticky or wet on skin so perfect…

Lasting ability

It has a hydrating properties, I knew right away I need a blotting paper and a pressed powder with me. Retouching and blotting especially for oily skin is needed.

• ·       Perfect for everyday makeup
• ·       Slim and easy to bring

• ·       It can’t hide your imperfection but can blur your blemishes
• ·       Not for oily skin type

 Ratings

After using this many times the one I can’t forget is when my husband surprise me and we went to Subic. It is so sudden and I don’t have any things in my bag except for Nivea Lotion, Sunprise Sun screen of Etude House and the Any Cushion Cream Filter.

 I let those three take care of my face I enjoy the hot sun but windy beach at Half-moon Beach Resort  , Shopping at Harbor point  and taking a dip in cold clean beach and after 1 day my body darkens but my face what more can I say? Walang nagbago!

Hindi ako nangitim sa mukha pero yung color ng skin sa arms and legs ko is nag dark. Life saver for me!

So if Ill gave my ratings 1 out of 10 ill gave this baby a 9 I just don’t like the coverage and lasting ability but it’s a must item for me. As of this moment I have two of this very nice cushion indeed!

I tried this one in sample size and i want to avail the bigger size so badly but it cost too much for me ha ha😂 in Tagalog KURIPOT AKO!. There's so many cleansing balms available in the market that cost less but i badly want to grab it because it is raved by many beauty gurus and enthusiast. I love using waterproof makeups and when i tried the sample size, it easily removes even the waterproof mascara on my lashes! A definitely must try Korean Product!

8.Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion Ex

Like i said I don't want to spend too much in just one product so Sulwhasoo products are just in my Wish list, poor me 😓. We all know Sulwhasoo skincare and makeup items are so expensive but you are buying the quality and effectiveness of it! 7.Moonshot Micro Setting-fit Cushion

My friend told me that this cushion doesn't cake and leaves dry patches on her dry combo skin, same as mine. It has this cooling effect after application at the same time light weight, She's promotes it to me every time we talked about Korean makeup and i badly want to try it as well.

I am an avid user of this lip tint since 2016 but why its in my wish list? Tony Moly Tony Tint Delight is one of My Holy Grail, it's always in my cart every time I made a purchase in Althea Korea. I can empty a tube for just 1 and a half month! It is long wearing even i eat and drink, it doesn't dry your lips like other lip tints do and the application is so easy even without a mirror ha ha!  You can choose from the 3 bold and bright colors  Red, Orange Cha Cha and Cherry Pink. I been using the set as of now and I did a product review of it on my YouTube Channel But this one is still on my wish list. Like The Tony Moly Tint Delight I love it so much that I want another 2 more set because my husband also using this product in his night time skincare routine 💗 The Contour cleanser cleans deep seated dirt while the primer water acts as my toner and serum at the same time, it makes my skin so nourished and plump while the fixer cream locks the moisture and gives my skin a dewy, healthy skin.

He has an oily combination skin type and really works for him some facial wash dry his mustache and chin area which leads to flaking and redness, when he used the rose one it soothes and hydrates his skin. I don't see any improvements in our pores but overall ill give it a five ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Packaging

It come with a pink unicarton and inside it has a frosted packaging base and a pink cap with Althea’s Logo, simple but cute isn’t it?  3 grams of product, made in Korea and  most of what is written in the bottom is in Korean.

How cute isn’t it? Honestly speaking I thought it’s much more bigger like a normal powder compact or loose powder here in Philippines but I’m glad about the transparent frosted packaging where you can see what is inside of it~

Shades and Application

They have 3 shades available I bought the #0 TRANSLUCENT first and I got the #WARM BEIGE on their Wonder Mystery Box and They sent me the #PINK LAVENDER the 3^rd anniversary edition of  with their new line (I’ll discuss it on the other time).

I did applied it without makeup as in bare face I’m sorry for the I-Just-Literally-Woke-up-Promise Look ha ha

Final Thoughts

#23 Warm Beige, First application it did really less the shine on my face it reminds me of baby powder it has this scent that lingers and fades away after application. It less the look of puffiness below my eyes its perfect for setting your makeup base also perfect for deeper skin tone. 

#Pink Lavender, First application i thought it has shimmers on it it gives my skin a glow but mattifying at the same time its scent like lavender but like warm beige it doesn't last long but looking at my face it gives me the uneven look even i applied it for the 2nd time maybe because of my skin tone but i love the effect of this one it reduces the redness on my face i love this than warm beige.

#0 Translucent, First application i don't see much difference, this one is really like a baby powder. It doesn't leave any uneven like the pink lavender, It just gave my skin the extra brightening i bet its much more perfect for touch ups.

Over all I love the pink lavender the most for no makeup application, for touch ups ill use the translucent and for baking and setting i love the warm beige. It gives my skin this smooth like finish and i believe it has this ingredients that helps your skin protected from UV RAYS. For more info about the product check Althea Korea Website.

It comes with a simple cardboard box and a squeeze tube with a flip top cap it contains 15ml or 5.07 fl.oz the pink one is for the rose and the green one is for the green tea.

Effects on my Skin.

For almost a week now the rose skin detoxer is part of my skincare regime what I notice on my skin is it lightens my skin after every use it smoothens and softens my chubby cheeks like a baby butt haha the it also lessens my dry patches on my face and it doesn’t have any tight feeling after using no itchiness. I used this with my brush massage and take note a little goes a long way don’t over squeeze it like I did ha ha.

Effects on my Skin
